HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL – JOB VACANCY


Habitat for Humanity International, through its Center for Innovation in Shelter and Finance (CISF), is implementing a program through strategic partnerships with six financial institutions in Kenya and Uganda. Its focus is to help these financial service providers diversify their product offerings to include vibrant and viable housing microfinance products with the potential for scale. Data is collected regularly from the financial service providers.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Programs for Europe, Middle East & Africa, the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the completeness and accuracy of the data collected as well as the analysis and presentation of the data for a variety of uses by the project team.
This position will be based in an office in Nairobi, Kenya.


KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:
Organize and oversee the collection of data on a monthly basis including baseline and follow-up information from clients using the “Survey ToGo” software, and financial service providers performance data.
Follow up and review the data for accuracy, logic and consistency.
Troubleshoot any problems the field surveyors may find.
Analyze the information and present in ways that support the production of learning outputs including quarterly analytical reports.
Support the production of learning outputs, which includes collection of information from different stakeholders, field visits, review of documents; and writing and editing of learning outputs.
Coordinate logistics for mid-term and final evaluation of housing microfinance products in coordination with the country microfinance managers; and support the analysis of financial service provider performance data during the evaluations.
Maintain Basecamp as the main depository for project information, and upload to SharePoint as necessary.
Assist taking notes and keeping minutes during country team calls, and technical huddle calls; follow-up on agreements made during the meetings.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Project Management or related area.
3+ years’ experience in project management and evaluation.
Well organized and able to track multiple processes simultaneously.
Advanced software skills with Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint and other MS-based office platforms.
First priority given to local candidates who are currently eligible to work in Kenya.PREFERRED:
Previous work in the microfinance industry advantageous.
Experience with quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches with monitoring and evaluation.
Excellent research, writing and communication skills in English.
Proficiency in one of the local languages of Kenya or Uganda.
Knowledge of statistical software programs, such as SPSS.
