Acacia
Mining seeks to employ a Scoop Operator based at Bulyanhulu Mine in
Tanzania. This role reports to the Muck and Haul First Line Leader and
the role holder will be accountable to deliver quality operation of the
Scoop equipment and meet production targets in a safe manner.
This is a permanent role, with the work roster being fourteen (14) days on and seven (7) days off.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure safe work practices, i.e. attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies of Acacia, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
• To operate equipment as per training and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Carry out routine checks of the equipment.
• Ensure daily production target is met.
• Carry out pre start checks of all equipment assigned.
• Recording and reporting all equipment faults, including damage to equipment.
• To complete tasks on time and to standard.
• To contribute actively, collaborate and support peers.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
• Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent.
• Certified training certificate on Scoops and Trucks.
Experience Requirements:
• At least 1 – 3 years’ experience in mining operations, specifically underground mining.
• 2 years’ experience in scoop and truck operation.
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
• Scoop & Truck operation, including remote Scoop operation.
• Underground Mining.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Effective communication using English language and numeracy.
