POSITION: GENERAL MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY A General manager draws
up and implements short, medium and long term activity schedules for sales
growth and roll out strategies for services and products to increase revenue.
He /she Carry out activities and evaluate
impact against budgets for the department and new initiatives also grow
business revenues to meet annual turnover targets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Draw up and implement short, medium and long
term activity schedules for sales growth and roll out strategies for services
and products to increase revenue.
Carry out activities and evaluates
impact against budgets for the department and new initiatives. Grow business
revenues to meet annual turnover targets.
Ensure the business achieves annual
profitability targets.
Ensure adequate funding for all
approved projects and access networks.
Maintain a correct working capital
position and adhering to budgets.
Recommend pricing structures in relation to
sales context e.g. establish appropriate selling prices to achieve desired
margins or mark-up and achieve a competitive edge.
Ensure that price information on competitor
activities is obtained and analyzed on time.
Ensure all "the
organization's" clients are retained to increase revenue and create
partnerships. Monitor departmental risk, management of policies and strategies
in line with corporate requirements.
Monitor customer relations systems,
guidelines and procedures for consistency of services and increase supplier
preferences.
Monitor Commercial budget
performance Ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems are in place
for continuous improvement of systems.
Keep constant watch on competitor
activity.
Ensure products meet market
requirements through assessing market threats and opportunities for
decision-making purposes.
Ensure information profiles for
clients and dealers are generated, reviewed and processed for management
decision-making processes.
Ensure that clients are provided
with long lasting solutions to run their business effectively and efficiently.
Ensure that prompt & appropriate
communication to customer downtimes is effective & efficient all times.
Ensure that all existing clients’
complaints regarding sales and services are resolved on time by adhering to
both the Master Service Level & Service Level Agreements Ensure that
effective communication is rendered internally and externally for the benefit
of customers so that service deliverables are within agreed timeframes.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in any Commercial discipline i.e.
Marketing / Accounts/Finance or Business.
Masters’ Degree will be an added advantage.
Solid experience in courier, freight, logistics and transportation industry.
A matured person with experience not
less than 5 years in managerial role.
Must be self-motivated, passionate and
enthusiastic.
Will uphold the company’s policies.
Inspires others by leading from the
front and by example.
Problem solver and initiative led.
Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Experience of using and managing CRM
tools.
Can provide evidence of teamwork to
deliver deals. Capable of building meaningful long-term relationships with
staff and customers to ensure loyalty and repeat business.
Ability to communicate effectively
at all levels face to face, by phone, email and presentations.
