Description

HEAVY MACHINERY EQUIPMENT (HME) MECHANIC

Acacia Mining seeks to employ a HME Mechanic based at Bulyanhulu Mine in Tanzania. This role reports to the HME First Line Leader and the role holder will be accountable to maintain all underground mobile equipment by repairing all faults according to OEM standards.

This is a permanent role, with the work roster being seven (7) days day shift, seven (7) days night shift and seven (7) days off.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.

• Ensure all mechanical repairs on machines are to standard according to OEM specification.
• Attend to all breakdowns of underground machines.
• Ensure there is means of identifying rectifying hazards by means of conducting risk assessments for the protection of employees and mining property.
• Ensure that facilities and equipment is being used safely and the appropriate work method is being applied.
• Provide reports according to assigned tasks.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualification Requirements:

• Mechanical Trade Qualification

Experience Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience in a HME Mechanic role.
• Strong hands on mechanic experience working with Sandvik underground mobile equipment (EJC530, EJC533, TH430, TH540, LH514, LH307, LH203).

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

• Maintenance Systems (RCM)
• Instrumentation

• Hydraulics
• Strong computer skills, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Time management, scheduling and planning
• Analysis and interpretation of data, troubleshooting
