Job Description
Title: IT Database ManagerLocation: Tanzania
EnCompass seeks IT Database Manager candidates for an upcoming multi-year technical and advisory services platform for USAID/Tanzania. The USAID/Tanzania Data for Development program seeks to provide services to improve data-driven decision-making, planning and implementation for the Mission, its implementing partners, and strategic local partners, including the National Bureau of Statistics, and other Tanzanian institutions.
Duties:
The main function of this position is supporting database users by identifying and solving all database issues as they arise. This position should manage database security, data back-up, and recovery
specifications. This position will also prepare users by conducting training, providing information, and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant field
- 5 years of demonstrated experience in managing field data collection using GIS
- Demonstrated experience in database management utilizing USAID Agency-recommended platforms
- Previous experience supporting a USAID funded program which involved monitoring and evaluation activities;
- Experience working with National Bureau of Statistics
- Proven ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills and experience; fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Kiswahili language skills are also required.
