Role overview
As a Gender Officer, you will be responsible for gender mainstreaming and proactive technical support. You will work with the project and with partners to ensure that gender equity principles are incorporated into activities. The project aims to increase the benefit to local communities in Tanzania of investment in the Extractives and Agriculture Sectors. As a Gender Officer, you will work closely with the T-LED (Tanzania Local Enterprise Development) Project Managers in each region in activities such as planning, implementing and following up on gender-related activities, including providing support on designing and implementing training on gender-related topics. The Gender Officer will
work as part of the T-LED project, jointly implemented by VSO Tanzania and CUSO International.

Skills, qualifications and experience required
Knowledge/qualifications:
• Degree in relevant field
• Knowledge of current development trends on gender

Experience:
• At least 3 years of experience in gender and related field, including gender planning, gender assessments, and gender training
• Relevant experience in the development and implementation of gender analysis and mainstreaming
• Experience of commissioning and/or conducting the design and implementation of gender mainstreaming options for promoting women’s livelihoods opportunities
• Experience in value chains, access to financing, and/or agribusiness development
