Acacia Mining seeks to employ two CAF Backfill Operations Coaches / Facilitators based at North Mara Gold Mine in Tanzania. These roles report to the Underground Mining Geotechnical & Fill Specialist and the role holders will be accountable for the operational control of all aspects related to the CAF (Cemented Aggregate Fill) operations including the crushers, CAF plant, and the cement storage shed.
This is a fixed term contract role, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure safe work practices for self and the team by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident/ hazard reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies of Acacia, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safe operating systems including a safety management Plan (SMP) for the CAF operations.
- Effective Contractor Management, including reviews, management of contractor costs, accruals and clearance of claims and invoices for payment.
- Optimization of backfill operations.
- CAF Product optimization.
- Assist with the CAF budget preparation activities and be accountable for the timely delivery of the outputs required.
- Optimization of crusher operation, CAF plant operation, and cement storage and transport.
- QAQC of aggregate and CAF product.
- Review the current operation performance and drive continuous improvement.
- CAF, crusher, cement contract management and reviews.
- Project management of the delivery and set up of the new CAF plant.
- Ensure that all required daily, weekly and monthly reports are completed on time and to standard.
- Ensure that objectives are met by team members, that performance reviews are conducted and that team members have development plans with milestones achieved.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements:
- Relevant mining or related qualification
Experience Requirements:
- 5-8 years’ experience in mining, including at least 5 years in underground mining (large scale mechanized), and 2 years in a mine backfilling role.
- Experience with the management of underground mine backfill systems including optimization projects.
- Capital project management experience.
- Development and maintenance of Operational/Capital Budgets.
