Marie Stopes Tanzania (MST) is the Non-governmental Organization dully registered under the law of Tanzania, and it is centered in a marketing-focused, results-oriented social enterprise, which uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide family planning, reproductive and sexual healthcare and allied services. MST is a member of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) Global Partnership, which operates in over 37 countries worldwide. MST’s goal is to improve quality of life in Tanzania by dramatically improving access to and use of family planning and other reproductive health services.
Job purpose
The Public Relations Manager provides a range of core functions within the Communications Team. S/he is a behaviour change specialist with direct responsibility for ensuring that demand generation components of service delivery events succeed in attracting high numbers of clients for reproductive health services. S/he is also responsible for event management and management of MST’s engagement with journalists for print media, radio and TV for behaviour change outcomes

Minimum requirements
- At least three years of previous experience in a professional communications capacity
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of how to communicate and engage with the public on health issues
- Proven track record on managing and delivering both large, stand-alone events and also managing frequent event planning over time
- Minimum of a University Degree; Master Degree is preferable
- Proven track record on effective behavior change communication
- Knowledge and understanding of the different perspectives and attitudes found in Tanzania regarding reproductive health care
- Previous experience in working for a clinical organization an advantage
- Previous experience or knowledge of working for Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights [SRHR] an advantage
- Fluent English and Kiswahili both oral and written
- Clinical/medical qualification an advantage but not a requirement
