Job Description

The role
We are currently seeking for Professional Career Development Expert for a proposal submission. The Professional Career Development Expert will be responsible for Institutional support to the Client and Scaling up of trainings to national technical colleges and the public.
Key Responsibilities

• Strengthen the capacity of the client in fulfilling its mandate towards the national construction industry and thus its revenue collections.
• Design and supervision of a Graduate Traineeship Programme (GTP) that will target graduates from universities and other tertiary institutions in equipping them with employable skills
• Scale up trainings to national technical colleges and the public to equip graduates with employable skills and promote the advancement of the engineering profession respectively.
  

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Professionally qualified Highways/Civil Engineer or equivalent with a Master’s degree from a recognized University;
• Membership of a recognized professional institution with chartered/registered status is a must;
• Proven strong skills in project management. The candidate shall be fluent in the English language
• At least 10 years of solid and diversified professional international experience in the engineering and construction sector.
• At least 7 years of demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a team of multi-sectoral disciplines in the engineering/construction sector. Relevant experience as a Team Leader or equivalent in the transport sector is preferable;
• At least 5 years’ experience in capacity building of students and early-career persons in the engineering sector, including the design and delivery of pupillage training;
• Demonstrated experience in facilitating the integration of “field-based” practical courses in tertiary institutions;
• Relevant experience with professional institutions in the construction sector, e.g. associations or societies will be an added advantage.
• She/he should have experience with EU funded project
