1.0 PURPOSE ANOSCOPE OF POSITION

The Chief Accountant shall ensure the operation of effective system of control of the church and related institution’s assets and liabilities. He/ She shall provide financial and management accounting services for the church including budgeting and budgetary control.

Develop and maintain good public relation/ Donors and provide competent advice to management in personnel welfare,

2.0 PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1 Manages the full range of the church finance administration in accordance with the approved rules and regulations.

2.2 Ensures sound financial management practices are developed and maintained

2.3 Provides effective financial control systems on all capital projects financed by donors by liaising fully with other managers

2.4 Keeps proper books of accounts including preparation of periodic/ annual reports, management reports and statements.

2.5 Coordinate and arrange for out-sourced services for the church

2.6 Makes coordination with external auditors

2.7 Prepares in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, consolidated annual accounts of the church

2.8 Undertakes training of staff under the section; and

2.9 Perform any other duties assigned by management.

3.0 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

3.1 Holder of Degree in business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent and CPA (T) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

3.2 Knowledgeable in using SAGE PASTEL accounting software
