Established in 1965, URC offers a range of technical assistance to strengthen health and social systems and service quality by empowering communities and health workers to identify and scale up locally appropriate solutions to critical problems. URC focuses on finding ways to deliver proven approaches to health care problems, applying quality improvement (QI) methods and conducting operations research to tailor those approaches to various settings. URC seeks qualified Director of Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Advisor candidates to support the upcoming USAID-funded Tanzania Boresha Lisha Kwa Maisha Bora” project. Tanzania Boresha Lisha Kwa Maisha Bora,” which means “Improved Nutrition for Better Life,” aims to is to intensify and integrate nutrition support to targeted regions to improve the nutritional status of women of reproductive age, especially pregnant and lactating women, adolescents, and children under five. The project will achieve this through a) Strengthened multi-sectoral coordination for improved nutrition at the local government level; b) Improved health, nutrition, caregiving, and WASH behaviors; and c) Increased access and availability of diverse, safe, and nutritious foods.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Director of M, E & L will be responsible for spearheading the project’s collaborating, learning and adapting efforts including leading the development and management of the project’s results monitoring, evaluation, collaboration and learning in line with the Mission’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration or related area of study or equivalent work experience along with specialized advance training in M&E.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience with progressively more responsible roles managing M&E/CLA for projects of similar scope; includes at least 5 years of M&E work at the supervisory level; Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation tools and techniques for health, agriculture, or nutrition programs a plus
- Demonstrated experience working in partnership with host governments, international donors, and implementing partners
- Excellent communication skills and strong inter-personal and supervisory skills, including the demonstrated ability to lead teams of M&E specialists
- Ability to work independently and with team members and partners at all levels
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to think and plan strategically
- Strong work experience with local and international partners in Tanzania, including both private and public partners
- Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in Swahili a plus.
