POSITION; SENIOR CREDIT OFFICER (1 POSITION)
Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self motivated and highly organized
Senior Credit Officer (1 position) to join the Retail Business Banking team. The work station is
Head Office.
Reporting Line: Senior Manager Group Lending
Locations: Branch
Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations
Division: Group Lending
Salary: Commensurate to the Job Advertised
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
• To provide assistant to Senior Manager Group Lending on ensuring quality group lending portfolio for branches.
• To ensure collections/repayments of group loans in branches as well as ensuring the loans are managed in accordance with the group loans credit policy and lending manual
• To assist Senior Manager Group Lending on follow up of queries raised by internal and external auditors and BOT.
• Assist branches in reconciliation, dealing with suspended transactions and mis balancing on related G/L accounts of group lending.
• In coordination with branch managers, he/she will deal with list of borrowers who have missed loan installments, unserviced loans, under/over deducted installments
• To assist Senior Manager Group Lending on ensuring that weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual portfolio reports are prepared.
• Liase with the branches to ensure that no queries are raised by customers or auditors with regard to group lending products
• Ensure that all group loan repayment are collected and deposited into TPB’s bank account by group officials within 12 hours by cross checking group funding accounts.
• Cross sell other TPB’s products and services
• Participate in the preparation of annual plan and projections for group loan portfolio
• Provide inputs for the review group lending policy and procedural manual
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of both group and individual loan documentation.
• Attend any other duties as may be assigned by Senior Manager/Chief Manager Group Lending or Director of Retail and Business Banking.
Key responsibilities
• Achieve and maintain the set monthly and annual targets .
• Compile periodic reports on the ongoing loan disbursement process
• Ensure accurate equinox system data and timely filing to all group loan documentation at head office
• Generate and instill solidarity group pressure in each group as the basis of co-guarantor ship in branches
• Developing capacity in the group lending section; and from time to time participate in loan appraisals for group loans and at branches and participate in the credit committee for the main purpose of building.
• Conduct business in conormity with banks policies and procedures as well as the best practice

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Education: Bachelor degree/Advance diploma in Banking, Economics, commerce, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from any recognized University or equivalent.
Experience/Skills
• The candidate must have a good knowledge of micro finance with significant experience in ggroup lending and at least 3-5 years experience at supervisory level.
• Must have experience on core banking system.

Banking Operations Officers, 4 positions for Kimara Mini branch and 3 positions for Singida Mini branch, to join the Technology and Operations team.
Reporting Line: Branch Manager (BM) or Branch Operations Manager (BOM)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
• Coordinate all counter activities while ensuring that quality service is provided to customers.
• Check tellers’ daily cash balancing and be a joint custodian to the tellers’ cash box
• Verify teller proof of cash and teller proof of cheques against actual documents by ticking and signing the printouts.
• Verify tellers’ cash on hand by physical count against teller actual vouchers and sign
• Scrutinize internal vouchers to ensure that they are properly drawn and authorized in line with the approval limits.
• Check daily counter transactions for all products. This includes ascertaining the correctness of SB24b and SB21/22 and summarize them on their respective SBT3A, 3B and 3C.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements timely and accurately
• Authorize payments under his/her jurisdiction as per laid down instructions
• Guide prospective customers who come ovver the counter for inquiries
• Check and sign back-office entries raised by the respective clerks/tellers
• Reconcile and clear all suspended transactions
• Perform duties of collecting cash from cash centre for customer’s withdrawals at the branch
• Handle Foreign Exchange Transactions

• Scrutinize loan applications, to review feasibility reports and prepare appraisal reports and accompanying memorandum for action by relevant loan sanctioning authority
• Supervise credit section/operations in collaboration with the BRanch Manager and BFO
• Process credit proposals received from customers and submit them with recommendations to the concerned higher authorities
• Verify loan application forms, crosschecking the requirements and advise customers accordingly
• Maintain borrower’s files and ensure that all pre-disbursement conditions are fulfilled
• Carry out regular follow-ups on loan recoveries/cheques collections from employers
• Ensure that loan installmentrs from customers are posted into relevant accounts
• Follow-ups on non performing loans/customers that are not paying their loan as per the agreement
• Follow-ups of loan charged-off to ensure that they are recovered from respective obligator/employers
• Ensure that weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and any other reports on loan portfolio are accurate, complete, and prepared on schedule.
• Prepare all branch returns and ensure thay are in accordance with the credit policy and lending manual
• Verify postings of loan administration fees for customers whose laons have been disbursed
• Ensure proper filling of customer credit documents and correspondents
• Filing/bundling records for safe keeping in the record rooms

Education:

- At least 1 - 3 years of relevant Banking Experience
- Working knowledge of Equinox Functionality
- Computer literate is desirable.

As an Artisan (Linesman), responsible for proper line Construction, Maintenance and perform Emergency works in the branch

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To construct and maintain distribution lines network in accordance with the company procedures and standards
• To ensure the holes for poles erection are excavated according to the company standards and measurements
• To ensure the electrical conductors of distribution lines are properly stringed in accordance with Engineering instructions and safety rules
