BASIC FUNCTION

Undertaking evidence-based policy development work.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

• Draft and co-ordinate the preparation of substantive reports on policy work carried out at UONGOZI Institute; Draft working papers; policy briefs, recommendations; and briefing notes;
• Provide comments on analytical reports and policy documents;
• Develop innovative and effective strategies and instruments to disseminate the findings and to convey the main messages from policy work to different audiences at workshops and conferences.
Contribute to the establishment of synergies between
UONGOZI Institute and related international organisations in particular those with a focus on leadership for sustainable development;
• Participate in multi-disciplinary policy related projects and activities;
Represent UONGOZI Institute at key international fora.

POSITION; PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

UONGOZI Institute seeks to hire a PROGRAMME COORDINATOR with excellent protect management skills to coordinate NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT Programme.
The Institute is implementing a programme to support natural resource management in Tanzania. The overall goal is to ensure that "extractives" generate the best possible returns for the country and build the foundations for sustainable socio-economic transformation, as well as broad-based growth and development. The objectives of the programme include:
• Providing a platform for dialogue, bringing together the' different players involved in the extractive economy so as to build consensus and a shared vision on extractives;
• Providing advice generated through well founded analysis to relevant MDAs;
• Continuously monitoring developments in the sector;
• Facilitating wider consultations through an inclusive and participatory process;
• Facilitating communication/flow of information to meet the needs of the different actors and the citizens at large; and
• Facilitating capacity building on the management of extractives to senior leaders in Government.

BASIC FUNCTION
Reporting to the Lead Hesearcher., the Programme
Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the programme, through but not limited to the following activities:
• Management: day-to-day administration of the affairs of the programme, including communication and liaison amongst all stakeholders;
• Organization of leadership training sessions and other awareness workshops;
• Budgeting: financial planning for the functioning of the programme;
• Monitoring: checking on the progress of research and implementation of other programme components;
• Reporting: preparation of various reports;
• Publications: coordination of programme publications (including research reports);
• Dissemination of publications and other outputs;
• Advertising of events of the programme;
• Website development to support dissemination and advertising efforts; and
• Coordination of on-demand policy work.

1. JOB TITLE: DISTRICT SANITATION AND HYGIENE COORDINATOR 1 POSITION (BASED IN DODOMA WITH FREQUENT TRAVEL TO THE DISTRICT)

Job Purpose: To coordinate and ensure the effective implementation (by partners) of the Sanitation and Hygiene Program under Global Sanitation Fund

Job Requirements:
• Ensure Program implementation, supervision and management and enhance the delivery of the program
• Serve as the main point of contact with program partners at District Level as the main of contact with program partners at District Level (local NGO and district Government)
• Supervise and coordinate to assess, support and evaluate all program partners during project implementation
• Write end of year and quarterly narrative Program reports for donor and validate against associated financial reports
• Responsible for budget control by track program spending
• Provide timely and regular updates in M&E systems, analyze deviations and take corrective action as needed
• Organize and conduct training and orientation to partners on sanitation and hygiene approaches before their field implementation
• Focus on the capacity building needs in the communities and support the partners to be able to provide the requires training and support to the communities
• Strengthens and institutionalizes corporate monitoring system and tools at the district level for effective management of outcomes and results
• Collection, sharing and dissemination of program learning’s at district level and at National level through reporting to the line manager

Skills Specific to the post

• Skills and experience on Community and/or international development including management experience including strong experience in multi-year, large project management, specifically involving Sanitation and Hygiene

2. JOB TITLE: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR (1 POSITION IFAKARA)

Job Purpose: Facilitate children, parents and partners in designing, planning, implementing and monitoring projects at the grassroots level while building and maintaining the relationship through meaningful communication across cultures

Job Requirement
• Facilitate the communities and other stakeholders in resource mobilization
• Facilitates effective participation of children, families, communities and stakeholders in program activities
• To facilitate communities in the design, implementation and monitoring of community manager projects in line with the CCCD agenda
• Establish good working relations with children, families, community leadership good working relations with children, families, community leadership, community based organizations (CBOs), government extensi0on staff and other stakeholders at ward and village levels
• Create community awareness and the community volunteer on development education and communication
• Facilitate the process of community reflections and project effectiveness
• Facilitate meaningful dialogue between children, families communities and sponsor using Plan’s sponsorship and development communication mechanism and tools
• To carry out regular home visits to all sponsored families
• Promote and facilitate child rights based programming at field level.
• promote and abide by internal policies and procedures including but not limited to: Child Protection Policy; Code of Conduct; mandatory reporting responsibility
• Ensures that the Ward and Village Child Protection Committees are fully functional.
• All partners and relevant others, including children and communities, are trained, sign and . have access to the child protection policy (and other relevant documents such as the Code of
Conduct), are aware of its contents and clear about the responsibilities it places on them.
• To develop and submit to the PUM monihly progress and status reports, Projects Outlines with budgets and annual action plans
• To monitor progress of project expenditures and submit budget modification request to the PUM
• To mainstream 'gender, programming in all Plan' business at the community level.

Skills specific to the post
• Excellent communication, community mobilization, problem solving and advanced facilitation skills
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
• Proficient in computer, team building and good interpersonal skills

Qualifications and experience
• Degree in Community Development, Development studies, Business, Sociology or/with specialized expertise in education, health, livelihood, water and sanitation.
• Ability to ride a motorbike
• At least 1 year working experience in a similar role with a good awareness of current issues in the field of development, and familiarity with children's issues in particular
• Experience in an NGO environment would be an added advantage.

3. JOB TITLE: DRIVER (IFAKARA)

Job Purpose: To provide transportation services to Plan staff and
documentation in a safe, courteous and timely manner to enable the smooth implementation of all. the activities at Ifakara Program Unit.

Job Requirement:
• Vehicle maintenance and management.

• Ensure traffic documents are always updated to abide with country regulations.

BACKGROUND: The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPL Board is a Body respond for managing the Premier and First Division Leagues on the basis of the Governing Regulations of the TPL Board. It is also responsible for developing the Tanzania professional League brand as well as overseeing the joint interests of Premier League and First Division League Clubs. TPL BOARD is neutral in matters of politics and religion. It prohibits any forms of political, religious, gender ethnic or racial discrimination in its activities.

Position Title: chief Executice Officer (CEO)


The RPL Board acting under the approval of TFF, is seeking for an energetic, creative professional to serve as its full-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the TPL Board, achieving the objects and goals of the TPL Board as directed b the Management Committee of the Board. He or she reports to the Chairman of the TPL Board Management Committee

Duties responsibilities in Summary:

1. Overall responsibility for management and day-to-day operations of the premier League and First Division League in accordance with the Governing Regulations established by the TPL Board
2. Overall Coordination of Premier League and First Division League activities
3. Work closely with the TPL Board Chairman to enable the TPL Board to fulfill its governance functions and facilitate the optimum performance by the Board, its committees and individual TPL Board members
4. Initiateand develop funding policies, identity funding programmes and plans for premier League and First Division League activities, for the approval of the TPL Board Management Committee
5. Work with the TPL Board Management Committee, standing Committee and advisor committees design, secure, implement and monitor viable short and long-term funding progrmmes, including Premier and First Division League sponsorship programmes
6. Oversee the fiscal activities of the organization including budgeting, reporting and audit
7. Promote TPL Board programs and services in a cost effective manner, while maintaining an acceptable level of quality
8. Identity problems and opportunities related to the Premier League and First Division League and address them; Report to the TPL Board Management Committee and its Committees appropriately; and facilitates discussion and deliberations in accordance with the Governing Regulations
9. Assure the filling of all legal and regulatory documents and monitor compliance with relevant laws regulations
10. Provide general oversight of all TPL Board activities, working closely with the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), TPBL Board Management Committee, TPL Board Standing committes Government Aunthorised, Sponsor, Office staff, volunteers and ensure smoothly functioning, efficient Premier and First Division Leagues as well as, organizational stability through development and implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedure and regular evaluation of TPL Board activities
11. Work closely with the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and TPBL Board Management Committee, to transform TPBL Board into a corporate Legal Entily that will hold the rights to and operate the Premier and the First Division League
12. Organize, prepare, facilitate and actively participate in negotiations of all TPL Board Business transactions and events including marketing and communications activities

Qualification and Experience
(i) A Bachelor’s Degree either in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Economics or in Sports Administration is required with a minimum of 3 years experience in senior management position
(ii) Demonstrated successful track record in leading and managing lerge operations/organizations
(iii) Demonstrated financial astute with the ability and strong commercial awareness and understanding of fundraising and/or income generation and business development
(iv) Successful track record of building and sustaining relationship with internal and external stakeholders
