JOB TITLE: UNDERGROUND INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICAL - (1 POST)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a member of the OH&S team the Industrial Hygiene Technician will be assisting the Industrial Hygiene Coordinator or relative Safety Specialist in the conduct of industrial hygiene monitoring. Surveys, investigations, inspections and follow up for the purpose of ensuring legislative compliance as well as meeting site and corporate guidelines with the intent of protecting the health and well being of all employees and contractors

Reporting Line: IH/Vector First Line Leader
Rotational Status: 6 weeks on 3 week off
Location: North Mara Mine Site

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Carry out routine personal/Area monitoring underground for participates, gas/vapour and physical hazards in underground working environments and other working areas on daily basis or as directed
• Maintain calibrate and operate field and laboratory instruments designed to measure noise, heat and illumination ventilation, humidity and air contaminants in the general working environment
• Observe employees being monitored and take notes to identity potential industrial hygiene issues
• Properly prepares and ships samples to the laboratory for analysis
• Review reports, historical data, sampling data and analytical results and prepares written reports of exposure

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS

Education
• Degree/ its Equivalent/ or Diploma in Environmental Health Science/Engineering, Chemistry and Biology from an accredited Institution
• Willingness to achieve professional designation in industrial Hygiene and remain current with industry, legislation and discipline best practices
• 2 to 5 years experience in industrial Hygiene especially in underground mining

Experience & Skills
• Willingness and commitment to improve overall Health and Safety in the workplace
• Good verbal and written communication skills (English and Swahili) are essential to interact and build relationships
• The ability to work underground in extend time
• Experience with database and Microsoft office programs
• Must have good working knowledge of regulations
• Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate investigative and narrative reports
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work
• Ability to organize and interpret field data and identify necessary corrections
• Must have a valid Tanzania driving license with drive test to be done

JOB TITLE: LEGAL COUNSEL - POST 1

WORKS FOR (Reporting Line): The successful candidate will have direct reporting line to the Senior Legal Counsel

TERMS: Permanent employment, upon successful completion of the probationary period

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS LEVEL REQUIRED

QUALIFICATION
• A University graduate with a degree in Laws Master’s degree may constitute an added advantage
• A registered Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and subordinate courts thereto and licensed to practice law in Tanzania
• Knowledge in legal practice in Tanzania, procedures and principles pertaining to such practice

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• Litigation, Policy making, knowledge of administrative of law, corporate, environmental and mining laws, policies and regulations
• Experience in the mining or extractive industry is an added advantage
• At least 3-5 years of experience practicing corporate, mining, natural resources law or general aspects of law
• Strong interpersonal skills, customer oriented mind-set, excellent problems solving capacity as well as analytical and organizational skills
• Skilled in the analysis and interpretation of legal documents, instruments and policies which have or can potentially impact the business of the Company
• Ability to work independently, under minimum supervision, under pressure and deliver by meeting deadlines

ROLE FUNCTION AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The success candidates will be charged with duties to manage legal and regularity affairs of Geita Gold Mining Limited from its site as well as provision of general but timely, effective and professional legal advice in issues related to Labour and industrial relation issues, environmental, land take and acquisition, community relations, compliance matters contract drafting and review as well as any matter affecting or which may potential affect the business and which may require legal intervention or attention

The following will form part and parcel of duties and accountabilities

1. LITIGATION
• Inter appearance in all judicial and quasi-judicial bodies including regulatory bodies for and on behalf of the Company
• Provide active, proactive and effective oversight of all litigation matters relating to the company including maintaining accurate case reports and records
• As directed by the Senior Legal Counsel, advise and engage management at site in all decision making process concerning litigation
• Draft necessary documents and correspondences
• In consultation with the Senior legal Counsel, Liaise with external Counsel representing or handling matters for and on behalf of the Company

2. Employment and Labour Relations
• In consultation with the Human Resource Department provide guidance, training or any related services as shall be directed by the Senior Legal Counsel on labour compliance matters and advice HR department on general legal aspect of labour and industrial relations
• Provide advice on relevant labour standards, policies and procedures

3. Regulatory and Compliance
• Attend regulatory and compliance aspects of GGM’s operations before and when they occur or materialize
• Monitor and record legal and legislative developments affecting or which may have implication on the Company’s operations
• Provide oversight and support on matters related to permitting and licensing and ensuring timely availability submission of statutory reports to relevant regulatory bodies
• Prepare, update and regularly advise and sensitise site Management compliance related matters
• Draft review Company policies, contracts or other documents and ensure that right, privileged, entitlements of the Company acquired or emanating from any law, contract or engagement with third partiens are protected and enforced where necessary, where infringed
• Analyse and identify risks potential presenting legal risks or liability relating and emanating from environmental management and which may negatively impact or expose the company into liability
• Participate in meeting with stakeholders such as OSHA, MEM, Local Government where requested to do so by the senior Legal Counsel

4. General Matters
• Assist the General manager and the Senior legal Counsel all legal matters as may be required or requested from time to time
• Assist the Senior legal Counsel/Company Secretary in all Corporate and Company Secretarial matters
• Participate in advancement perseveration and upholding interest of the Company while in contact any third party while representing the Company as may instructed by the Senior legal Counsel
• Handle as-hoc assignment reliated to company business as shall be required by any Senior Management of the Company on site

Program Overview
Pathfinder has had a presence in Tanzania since 1960 when is supported the founding of the national family planning movement. Since the 1980s, Pathfinder has collaborated with the government on the development, refinement and establishment of community-based programs for FP, HIV/AIDS, and more recently maternal and new born health. Pathfinder is currently in the process of expanding its family planning programs. The organization is now seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, and experienced manager to lead a new urban FP service delivery project. With a primary focus on service delivery, the project will improve the quality and availability of long-acting and permanent contraceptive methods (LAPM) and post-abortion care services in public sector health facilities in urban areas of Tanzania. To support the services delivery focus of the project, Pathfinder will also work within communities to increase service-seeking behaviours and engage individuals in processes for demanding quality services. By doing so, the project will foster an environment in which women of reproductive age (WRA; ages 15-49) in the project catchment areas have the choice of it and when to become pregnant and of how many children to have. To achieve this, the project has set a goal to increase use of comprehensive contraceptive services-particularly long-acting and permanent methods-and increase access to comprehensive

Position Purpose
Responsible for provision of technical leadership and management of the clinical component of the FP and post-abortion case service project. S/he will be responsible for the development and/or adaptation of training tools, curricula, supervision and mentoring tools. S/he will also be responsible for developing and mentoring a strong clinical team to provide close post-training mentoring and support. Reporting to the Project Director, s/he will develop detailed work plans, and monitor project inputs and results in public sector health facilities in Temeke and Ilala districts of Dar es salaam, Tanzania. S/he will contribute to program reporting and documentation

Key responsibilities

1. Provide clinical and technical leadership and oversight for the strengthening Contraception and Post-Abolition care support project
2. Provide leadership and link clinical and technical expertise from acres pathfinder with critical country needs, including clinical training and quality improvement approaches
3. Supervise, matrix manage, coach and mentor assigned staff by role-modeling leadership qualities and behaviours and delegate responsibilities appropriately to facilitate the implementation of the project
4. Collaborate with local governments to assess health facilitate and ensure plans are put in place and implemented to improve FP and PAC service delivery for all clients including married and unmarried youth.
5. Collaborate with Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and clinical training specialists to organize, oversees, and ensure the quality of clinical training on long-acting and permanent contraceptive methods and post-abortion care services
6. Identity gaps in clinical technologies, approaches, guidelines and standards and lead development of innovative solutions to increase client access to the services delivery sites
7. Work in close collaboration with city, district, health facility and professional association’s staff to organize services at the facility to improve FP and PAC service delivery
8. Work in close coordination with Project Director, to identity lessons learned, synthesize documentation, and disseminate clinical and technical best practices, and develop strategies to take best and/or new high impact practices, and develop strategies to take best and/or new high impact practices to scale in country and support
9. Provide strategic guidance and input for clinical monitoring. Evaluation activities including ensuring compliance with national government, WHO, and pathfinder International policies, standards, and practices
10. Build and sustain strategic partnerships and collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, including country clinical and technical staff in-country partners, local and international NGOs and local and national governments
Basic Requirements
• Medical Degree (M.D) is required
• Minimum of 5 years demonstrated clinical/technical experience in FP or SRH programs, including proven expertise in the provision of technical assistance and training
• Strong clinical Skills in provision of long-acting and permanent methods and training
• Strong clinical skills in provision of post-abortion care services.

Preferred Qualification
• Further specialization in obstetrics/gynecology is preferred
• Masters or higher in public health, international development, public administration, or related behavioral sciences a plus
• Experience in design and/or implementation of large scale and complex FP and RH programs involving short deadlines, multiple tasks and in coordination with multiple constituencies
• Demonstrated experience in provision of clinical training and in introduction and maintenance of quality assurance processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili

World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to work as Communication and Awareness Officer for Fisheries Co-Management Programme/ RUMAKI Seascape Programme. The jobholder will be responsible for effectively communicating the objectives and achievements of the programme to a range of stakeholders; as well as facilitating knowledge-sharing and awareness-raising on issues surrounding sustainable fisheries and marine resources management amongst coastal communities in the programme area, as well as counterparts from partner institutions at national and district level.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivering communications and awareness-related outputs of the programme.; facilitating knowledge- and awareness-raising on issues surrounding sustainable ecosystem- based fisheries management amongst coastal communities in the programme area; conducting awareness-raising on the marine environment and sustainable use of fisheries resources within primary and secondary schools and Islamic Madrasa schools; maintaining a relationship with a network of relevant journalists in Tanzania across all media;; routinely collecting information and photographs during field visits to enable reporting of individual or group 'success stories' relating to the Fisheries Co- management/ RUMAKI Seascape Programme; producing semi-annual and annual technical progress reports and any other reports as may be required; and participating and providing technical input in preparation of annual programme work plans and budget.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental education, communications, natural resources management;
• At least five years relevant professional experience in communications and! or environmental education with emphasis on sustainable natural resources management;
• Experience in supervising the design and production of awareness materials;
• Understanding of, and sensitivity towards, the culture and livelihoods' context of rural coastal communities in Tanzania;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Kiswahili and English; and
• High level of computer literacy and technical report writing in English.
