Radiographer

The story
Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a locally registered NGO first established in 1994. It is the largest indigenous provider of disability and rehabilitation services in the country. CCBRT aims to empower people with disabilities and their families, improve their quality of life, and ensure access to medical and rehabilitative treatment. Committed to preventing disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and
newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities and is currently constructing a Maternity and Newborn Hospital which will serve as a referral centre for high risk and emergency deliveries in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.

For our newly-expanded Imaging Department, serving both CCBRT’s standard and private clinics, we are looking for a passionate Radiographer.

The role
Will include:

  • Preparing patients for radiology procedures, including orientation on exams and preparations as well as preparing contrast to be given to patients
  •  Carrying out radiological examinations (X-Rays), including routine and special exams in a sensitive and ethical manners
  • Carrying out portable X-Ray examinations and ensuring adequate radiation protection
  • Processing, enveloping and submitting films and providing adequate clinical information for further medical interpretation
  • Keeping and updating accurate statistics and registration books (all demographic details)
  • Maintaining and organizing consumables stocks
  • Providing primary health education to patients on radiation protection and ensuring proper use of radiation techniques
  • Maintaining X-Ray equipment
  • Supervising sterilization of radiological materials and instruments

The candidate
Will have:


  • Diploma of 3 years in Radiography from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a general Radiographer
  • In-house/Vendor training in CT/MRI/VT
  • Registered with Tanganyika Medical Council as a general radiographer
  • Effective communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Self Confidence

  • Ensuring adequate radiation protection to patients and personnel
  • Processing, enveloping and submitting images on films and soft copies as well as providing adequate clinical information for further medical interpretation
  • Keeping and updating accurate statistics and registration books (all demographic details)
  • Maintaining and organizing consumable stocks
  • Providing primary health education to patients on radiation protection and ensuring a proper usage of radiation techniques
  • Maintaining CT equipment
  • Supervising sterilization of materials and instruments

The candidate Will have:

  • Diploma of 3 years in Radiography from a recognized institution
  • Specialist Diploma of 1 year in CT/MRI/VT is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Radiologist with at least 1 year experience as a CT Technologist
  • In-house/Vendor training in CT/MRI/VT
  • Registered with Tanganyika Medical Council either as a specialist radiographer (CT/MRI/VT) or a general radiographer
  • Effective communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently

  • Supervising sterilization materials and instruments used during exams
