Dear all,
I am writing on behalf of a Danish company specializing in pre-healthcare experience programs at hospitals abroad for gap year & medical students. Our vision is to broaden young people’s perspective on global healthcare and be the main vehicle for cross-cultural relationship within the medical field. This we accomplish by giving gap year & medical students the possibility to gain medical experience by shadowing hospital personnel abroad.
We are operating in Stone Town and are looking for a program manager who is up for the challenge, taking upon the job to run the day to day program on Zanzibar.
Students traveling with Try Medics are between 18-24 years old.
We are looking for a program manager who can help take care of our students placements in Stone Town. As program manager your responsibilities would include managing the student's placement and ensuring that they run as planned, ensuring that the students are taken well care of and independently manage issues as they occur. You are simultaneously expected to keep the Danish office updated and informed on a day-to-day basis on all arising issues and aspects of the program.

Try Medics in Zanzibar is based in Mbweni and works together with Al Rahma, Global & Mnazi Mmoja Hospital in Stone Town. Students traveling with Try Medics are between 18-24 years old. In addition to the hospital placements Try Medics arranges activities, accommodation and food. We at Try Medics put great emphasis on the student's well-being and that they are taken great care of during their stay with us. The students live together at a house in Mbweni.
We are looking for a program manager who possesses these qualities;
Excellent social skills.
Proficient in English, both written and oral.
Great independence and a problem solver
An understanding of the Western culture
An understanding of Zanzibar’s culture
Reliable and trustworthy
Able to use computers with the expectation that you can stay in contact with the Try Medics headquarters based in Denmark using online medias and telephone/skype. Furthermore able to work with Microsoft office.
Up for a challenge
Ready to work full time
Have experience with handling volunteers or any other kind of tourism
