Underwriting Officer POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Zanzibar Insurance Corporation is a state owned company which has been operating even before liberations of the insurance industry in 1996 AND REGISTERED ACCORDING TO Insurance Act Cap. 394 of year 2009
Is looking for qualified candidate to fill the following vacancy
POSITION: UNDERWRITING OFFICE MWANZA BRANCH
PURPOSES serve under the branch manager she/he is responsible for underwriting business and renewals, endorsement, processing of claims as well as routine correspondence
DUTIES
Under taken the underwriting of new policies
Apportions risks under various reinsurance treaties and/or facultative reinsurance
Receive facultative reinsurance offers from the outside companies maintain reissuance files and relevant correspondence
Advises the Accounts Department on Credit and Debit Notes to be raised in favor of or against Insurance Agents. Insurers or Reinsures in respect of premiums, claims etc
Prepare relevant data for actuarial valuations
Prepare endorsements and renewal endorsement
Checks premium rates applicable to endorsements and renewals and ensures that they are correctly applied
Draft all endorsement and renewals as need arises
Advises on trends in the various aspects of business operations within his section and suggests corrective measures
Sign document within approved financial powers delegated to him
Deals with all matters connected with advances or commission to agents
Accept business within prescribe financial powers
Process claims for settlements e.t.c
Carry out risk and loss survey as necessary
EXPERIENCE
Holder of advance diploma in insurance or any recognize equivalent qualifications with 3 year experienced
Computer literacy is an added advantage
REMUNERATIONS
WILL be according to ZIC salary scale and other terms and conditions
