Job Description
The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is looking for a Project Manager who will manage, coordinate and lead a large, ambitious, results-oriented, multi-institutional project across 8 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is a project that has been designed to learn quickly and effectively so as to ensure high likelihood of success, so the Project Manager will be someone who is collaborative, innovative, intelligent, energetic, ambitious and comfortable leading and facilitating suchcomplex, adaptive management projects.
I. S/he will oversee the overall management and operations of the EC Regreening Programme, which will include:
- Overseeing the management of the programme’s budget (in close collaboration with ICRAF finance staff)
- Ensuring synergy and effective operational coordination among all implementing entities in the eight participating countries (currently: Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Somaliland, Senegal, Ghana, Mali, Niger)
II. S/he will coordinate functions including:
- Liaising, negotiating, and developing the capacity of country level partners in the selected countries and their relevant regional leadership functions;
- Coordinating and facilitating effective regional and intra-country team functioning, including ensuring that the strengths of all the participating partners are fully exploited
III. S/he will support the Regreening Programme’s monitoring and impact functions, as per the Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and
Learning (PMEL) strategy to be developed as part of the EC regreening’s Inception Report.
