Salary Currency: Tanzanian Shilling
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Process invoices in Tally system, produce and distribute copies for mailing and filing.
  2. Prepares, reviews and mails monthly customer statements.
  3. Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and wire transfer transactions.
  4. Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions.
  5. Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
  6. Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and customers.
  7. Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering corrections to customer accounts.
  8. Resolves customer accounts by examining payment plans and payment history to determine if collection letters need to be sent out on delinquent accounts.
  9. Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts, coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account, verifying totals, and preparing reports.
  10. Balance daily A/R batches; prepare and distribute income reports and statistics to key personnel.
  11. Investigate collection problems and advise customers on corporate A/R policies and procedures.
  12. Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its customers.
  13. Issue PO’s when applicable and approved by management.
  14. Assists other duties as assigned.
  15. Complete credit analysis and review of new clients. Determine credit limits and annual review of major client accounts, needed and directed.
Qualification & Skills requirements
  1. Degree in Business Administration in Accounting and Finance or Related field
  2. 2 years’ experience in accounting
  3. Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  4. Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  5. At least 1 year experience in accounting package
  6. Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs
  7. High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
  8. Excellent data entry skills
  9. Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  10. Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
  11. Effective organizational, stress and time management skills
  12. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  13. Ability to work independently or as a team member
  14. Ability to work with a diverse group of people
  15. Customer service and negotiation skills
The Accounts Receivable officer is responsible for effective issuing invoices, follow up with the customer outstanding and reconcile the statements
