Roads/Highway Engineer– Tanzania

SHELADIA is seeking an International Road Expert for the Roads/Highway Engineer in Tanzania to carry out the following scope;

Supervision for the Rehabilitation of roads 2051 km and trails 132.5 km, including drainage system to Gravel Standard, for Ruaha, Mikumi and Udzungwa National Parks, Nyerere National Park as well as Kilombero Nature Reserve. The specific objectives of the Consultancy Services are:

i) Supervision of the works for roads project and trails and its associated structures during the construction stage;

ii) Inspection of completed works during the Defects Liability Period (DLP);

iii) Supervision of maintenance activities during the DLP when required.

The Roads/Highway Engineer must have the following qualifications:

1. She/he must be a registered Civil Engineer in any relevant professional Board with a degree in Civil Engineering.
2. She/he must have a minimum of Eight (8) years of general experience related to road design and construction with at least three (3) projects of similar nature (2051km) in the last 8 years.
3. The duties shall comprise day-to-day management of each site operation, including technical and administrative aspects, conducting site meetings with the Contractor, supervision of construction of road structures, measurement of quantities and materials sampling to be sent to the permanent field office laboratory.
4. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
