Business Environment Advocacy Facility Lead, Productivity for Prosperity (P4P)

PwC is working on a bid for FCDO’s upcoming £26.5 million, 5.5 year, Productivity for Prosperity (P4P) programme in Tanzania that is due to commence in July 2022. We are now looking for high calibre individuals to fill several critical roles for the core delivery team including the Business Environment Advocacy Facility Lead for the programme. The role will be based in Tanzania for the duration of the programme.

P4P is a high profile structural economic transformation programme aimed at increasing labour productivity and climate resilience in key sectors of Tanzania’s economy, including agro-processing and horticulture. It will have three main pillars: building capabilities of private sector firms, investment facilitation, and business environment reform.

The Business Environment Advocacy Facility Lead will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead on the delivery of the Business Environment Advocacy Facility which will support funding research and evidence, policy formation, lobbying coordination and strategy, strategic communication, and public private dialogue
  • During the programme’s inception phase, contribute to finalising the design of the programme’s business environment reform strategy, including develop specific outcomes and milestones
  • Develop close relationships and engage with business members’ organisations and advocacy groups
  • Provide strategic direction to and leadership for a small, dedicated team and draw upon a pool of experts to implement the programmes business environment reform strategy
  • Act as a full time member of the core team

Eligible candidates should have the following experiences and qualifications:

  • At least 10+ years experience of leading similar Business Environment programmes or workstreams in Africa, ideally in Tanzania
  • Familiarity with other donor funded projects, ideally funded by the UK Government
  • Experience of delivering large, complex economic development programmes
  • Experience working with large international professional services organisations (or equivalent)
  • Influencing and communicating with senior political and business leaders
  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
