Geita Gold Mine (GGM) is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of North Western Tanzania. It is located 5 km’s west of Geita Town, about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s South of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The Mine is owned and managed by Anglo Ashanti Limited.


Geita Hold Mining Limited looking for and is desirous of appointing a dedicated, experienced organized and dynamic Legal Counsel to be stationed its mine site located in Geita town in Geita Region, Tanzania

ROLE TITLE: STRATEGIC SOURCING AND LOCAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST - 1 POST

WORKS FOR: (Reporting Line): The successful candidate will have a direct reporting line to the Contacts and Procurement Superintendent

TERMS: Permanent employment, upon successful completion of the probationary period

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS LEVEL REQUIRED

QUALIFICATION
• Tertiary Qualifications in a technical, commercial or legal discipline
• A postgraduate qualification in either Management or a Supply Chain discipline is desirable

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• Minimum 10 years relevant experience in a business, contracts, procurement or supply chain environment
• Demonstrable skills in business development, preferably in Tanzania
• Demonstrate ability to develop effective working relationships across all level of the organisation as well as external stakeholders
• HSSE understanding and evidence of commitment
• Team working
• Customer focus
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Sound time management skills
• Cultural awareness

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Working for Contracts and Procurement Superintendent to manage both strategically, with safety being paramount, the sourcing and establishment of long term strategic contracts

This role is then complemented with the development of local business capability to participate in the conducting of business
• Identify commodities that lend themselves to strategic contracts
• Establish strategic supply contracts with a potential annual value exceeding $50m
• Manage the associated tendering process and subsequent adjustications
• Facilitate the approval of strategic contracts comply with statutory and corporate standards
• Pro-actively seek involvement from local businesses with the potential to become valued suppliers
• Provide assistance to local business to conform corporate requirements to qualify as a supprier
• Sound relationships with Users, Inventory and Procurement staff as well as the community at large

ROLE FUNCTION AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Ensure all tenders are appropriately qualified and vetted
• All requests for tender are subject to strict governance requirements
• All strategic contracts are legally vetted
• Achievement of targets in the establishment of Strategic contracts
• Develop a plan for local business development and engagement
• Management of both internal and external stakeholders in the strategic contracting process
• Negotiations are minuted and comply with corporate ethical standards
• Reporting - both local and corporate
• Analyse and improve all strategic contracting and local business development functions
• Ensure all records are maintained for both management and audit purposes

QUALIFICATION

• A Post graduate qualification in either Management or a Supply Chain discipline is desirable
• Registration with PSPTB will be an added advantage

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Working for Supply Chain Manager, to manage both strategically and tactically, with being paramount, the Warehousing, Inventory and Logistics functions
• Up to four warehouses, with a total staff of 40 and an Investment>$85m
• An Inventory control team of 5, meeting both site and corporate goals
• A logistics function incorporating both local and international movements
• Compliance with statutory and corporate standards for material storage
• Sound relationships with Users, Logistics providers and supply staff to ensure outstanding service level
• A key role in the Supply Chain leadership team

ROLE FUNCTION AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• All stock issues, receipts, transfers and adjustments are carried out safely, accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner
• Stock takes are conducted with results within agreed targets
• All inventory and direct materials are stored in appropriate locations environment maintained as required
• Environmental planning related to materials handling
• Service level are above targets
• Logistics services are seamless
• Management of deliveries across the site
• Management of external logistics providers
• Rapid response to emergency material needs
• Reporting - both local and corporate
• Analyse and improve all Materials and Logistics functions
• Ensure all records are maintained for both management and audit purposes

JOB TITLE: COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS SPECIALIST – (1 Post)

Reporting Line: Chief Compensation and Benefits Advisor
Rotational Status: Six (6) weeks on and Three (3) weeks off
Location: Bulyanhulu Gold Mine; Kahama District, Shinyanga Region

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist the Chief Compensation and Benefits Advisor with the annual Cmprensation & Benefits program for Acacia Mining
• Proactively monitor and track trends in the market related to Compensation and Benefits
• Assist the Chief Compensation and Benefits Advisor to introduce and imprement new benefits as part of the different operations and officers
• Coordinate and ensure compliance with the Acacia Mining remuneration methodology processes across the different operations and officers
• Participate and coordinate salary surveys. Analyze salary survey findings and assist the Chief Compensation and Benefits Advisor in revising the AMS salary scales in line with market salary data 
• Evaluate, maintain and interpret conditions of Employment to Acacia personnel
• Assist the Chief Compensation and Benefits Advisor with the calibration process of new roles with Acacia Mining
• Complie compare and analyze salaries and conditions of employment information across different operations
• Maintain and ensure that Acacia Mining’s Compensation & Benefits Policies are updated and available
• Aligned with legislative requirements within the different countries of interest

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS:
EDUCATION
• Advanced Diploma/Degree Human Rsources Management
• Masters in Human Resources Management will be added advantage

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• At least 5 years experience in a Compensation and Benefits role is essential
• Experience in the Mining Industry will be advantageous
• Sound Knowledge of remuneration practices
• Advanced Excel skills are desired
