DEPUTY TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR / CHIEF OPERATING OFFCIER POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Amani Children's Home (Centre for Street Children) has grown substantially over the past years. Because of this rapid growth, Amani now desires to free the Executive Director from much of the 'business management' of Amani's operations, so he will have more time to invest in strategy, programs, and development. We therefore are seeking a talented, high-performing, mature and self-driven Deputy to the Executive Director I COO, to be in day-to-day charge of all 'business' operations at Amani, and to deputize fully for the Executive Director in case of absence.

Main
Responsibilities:
Supervising the'business side' of Amani's operations, including, but not limited to:
Overseeing HRM, including recruitment of senior officers for the organization and ensuring good staff evaluations.
Overseeing accounts, finances and tax-administration, incl. budgeting and financial audits.
General policy development and -implementation to improve the 'business side' of Amani's
operations.
Contract management, legal matters, and land- and property management.
IT and internet management.
Developing and leading new Amani construction projects.
Overseeing maintenance, transport, and other technical matters.
Logistical management of existing and 'future Amani Satellite Centers.
A broad range of administrative support tasks to the Amani Executive Director.

Minimum Requirements:
A Master's Degree in a relevant field, such as business management or administration; MBA being a plus.
At least 12 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 7 years in a senior management position in a large Tanzanian for-profit I non-profit organization (with more 20 staff).
Excellent knowledge and proven in-depth experience in managing multiple large-scale business
projects I managing the business side of large non-profit organizations.
Absolute fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
Being a Tanzanian (preferred) or East-African Citizen.
