POSITION OVERVIEW:
Develop, promote, and manage the Chamber's U.S.-Africa Business Center (USAfBC) by providing a range of services to Chamber members engaged in East and Southern Africa.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the president of the USAfBC, promote policy advocacy initiatives, programs, and services targeted at Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Mozambique, among other markets; identify and manage key policy issues; oversee and write policy papers, reports, and other materials affecting member companies' trade and investment interests in East and Southern Africa; draft and manage trade, investment, regulatory, and political analysis to member companies and executives; enhance the Center's platforms and brand in Washington and in key capitals in the region; respond to member inquiries; develop and implement a variety of Africa-related activities; and help fundraise and identify prospective member companies for the Center.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree and 7+ years' experience working with business, trade, or investment issues focused in Africa; expertise in the U.S. trade policy formulation process and issues related to U.S. trade and investment across Africa; familiarity with East African government practices and policies and the U.S. business community operating in these markets; strong professional connections in East Africa, the U.S. business community, and the U.S. government; experience with fundraising and budget management; strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills; proficiency in MS Office; and the ability to travel overseas. Experience working and living in East Africa preferred.
