Job Position: Finance Officer Trainee
Gender: Female
Job Purpose
The Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining financial, accounting, administrative and
Personnel services in order to meet legislative requirements and support company operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Financial
• Enter all income and expenditure transactions into accounting system.
• Reconcile all banks, control and other accounts.
• Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets with company external accountancy firm.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly income and expenditure statements and budget comparison and cash flow reports.
• Prepare and enter journal entries and adjustments into the accounting system.
• Prepare financial year end schedules, including debtors and creditors,
and ensure all accounting requirements, up to and including trial balance are complete.
• Liaise with and assist external auditor in respect of annual financial statements and related matters.
• Process banking: including deposits and day book.
• Process all Petty Cash reconciliations on a weekly basis, or as required, including issuing cheque to float custodians.
• Process salaries and maintain required records including salary packaging records.
• Reconcile salary records and make returns as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain Salary Packaging Policy and Procedures for company
accordance with country tax office and other statutory body requirements.
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements.
• In Conjunction with the Management Team, establish and maintain company Financial Policy and Procedures.
• Process and control payment of invoices payable.
• Assist with issuing receipts for all money received.
• Assist with issuing invoices and managing accounts receivable.
• Ensure security of money and other assets held on premises and assist in the
development and maintenance of an assets register.
• Ensure adequate and current insurances are maintained by company.
• Assist with financial aspects of returns to the company statutory funders and ensure their
timely submission.
Administrative
• Answer telephone calls and deal with matters raised as appropriate.
• Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, assist with preparation and renewal
of legal, financial and organisational agreements and arrangements.
• Assist with the organization and control of the ordering, purchase & maintenance of
Office equipment, supplies and stationery.
General
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders to support the key responsibility areas.
• Carry out general clerical and administrative duties to support the role.
• Maintain at all times the confidentiality of information about clients, stakeholders and other
personnel.
• Attend all relevant internal and external meetings that assist with the development and
maintenance of company.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree Accounting, Finance or related field from Reputable University
• Qualified with CA, ACCA, CPA
• Ms. Office applications (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook) and experience in accounting package software is a must.
• At least 1 year working experience in similar role.
• Ability to work under pressure.
