Job Description
WYG has been shortlisted for the EU funded project “Support to Local Construction Industry” in Uganda.The overall objective of the project is to improve the transport
sector in terms of sector governance, planning, implementation and sustainability of infrastructure. The purpose of this contract is increased competitiveness of the local construction industry in the transport sector.
The intended start date is September 2017 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 36 months from this date.

We are currently seeking canddidates for the position of Key Expert 4 Professional Career Development Expert with the following qualifications and skills:
- Professionally qualified Highways/Civil Engineer or equivalent with a Master’s degree from a recognised University;
- Membership of a recognised professional institution with chartered/registered status is a must;
- Proven strong skills in project management. The candidate shall be fluent in the English language.
- At least 10 years of solid and diversified professional international experience in the engineering and construction sector.
- At least 7 years of demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a team of multi-sectoral disciplines in the engineering/construction sector. Relevant experience as a Team Leader or equivalent in the transport sector is preferable;
- At least 5 years’ experience in capacity building of students and early-career persons in the engineering sector, including the design and delivery of pupillage training;
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating the integration of “field-based” practical courses in tertiary institutions;
- Relevant experience with professional institutions in the construction sector, e.g. associations or societies will be an added advantage.
